Indian Nite

Three Ladies in their Indian outfits ...
Yours Truly with Indian & Canadian BFF

As a DS living  far away from home gives me an opportunity to meet more people both local and foreigners as well as making friends with them. I am still in contact with my family and fellow friends @home-sweet-home through telecommunication and mainly via virtual means the FB. At the same time I am also meeting and making new friends eyes to eyes and face to face at the place where I am residing now,  the hospitable   and spectacular Muscat :)

Among the friends whom I used to be in closed contact with in this beautiful and hospitable land apart from the usual Local Friends, AWG, ALC, American Women, The RH Badminton Club and Perwakilan Ladies are friends  from my Book Club Group (BCG). They are not DS but EW (expats' wives) who have many talents apart from their passion in reading and sharing knowledge about the books they read with the BCG members.

Indeed, it has been two years that I joined the BCG and still our passion of getting together and sharing the same interest are burning well and fine! Even in summer when some of our members are leaving the country for a much more cooler places or their homelands, whoever are staying behind still continue with the Book reading and healthy discussion.

We also prefer not to slow down the momentum even during fasting month. Indeed, I truly like the spirit shown by the group members who are very disciplined in their manner and conduct irrespective of 'Rain or Shine' our reading activity must continue and still has to go on and to be completed! Hence, for this summer season although only a few members are in town, we still proceed with our reading activity. Yes! I truly Like it ...

From this BCG also, I get to know two lovely friends namey AA and SA. They are not only gorgeous but very good at cooking  both their traditional foodies and international cuisines ;) Wow, just writing about their talents made my mouth watering in this fasting month LOL!

Last weekend, just before Ramadan starts, AA an Indian national from Bangalore invited us to their cosy home in MQ for an Indian Nite! We were requested to dress in an Indian attire which was fun. I came in red and green Salwa Khamis since I did not own a sari nor knowing how to wear it properly :D

Another buddy from Canada wore her golden and maroon trim sari which was really pretty. In fact, she looks like Sonya Ghandi ;) Looking at her in that beautiful  traditional Indian outfit gives me an awesome feeling that although all of us come from different places with different background, yet when we decided to have a theme for a particular event, all of us are in unity to achieve success in whatever we planned!

Indeed, on that beautiful Indian Nite we had been successful in achieving our goal to dress-up in Indian costumes and also we enjoyed and cherished the event by posing and taking pictures in our beautiful and colourful outfits :D.

Not only that, we also enjoyed the delicious and sumptuous Indian cuisines both from Southern and Northern India specially prepared by AA for us! That was really awesome .... We had prawn pakoda and canapés for appetizer just before our main meals. AA is good at cooking and I always enjoyed her tasty dishes.

For the main food at the dinner table, AA prepared vegetarian meals for our Canadian buddy, including egg plant masala, navrataan korma and shahi paneer. She also tireless prepared other mouthwatering dishes such as chicken tikka and lamb Korma for me and my better half. We ate all that delicious foodies with briyani basmati rice and hot naan. Wow! That was really awesome of AA who always respect and took into account her BFF likes and dislikes, their interests, passions and hobbies.

After that heavy and sumptuous Indian dinner, we were later served with delicious homemade gulap jamun the popular Indian dessert and also chai, the Indian pulled tea ;) All in all, I came home happy with heavy stomach. TQ my dear AA for the lovely and delicious foodies. But most of all my sincere gratitude to you for the kindest friendship which we had fostered two years ago and till today it still blooms brightly as bright as your sweet Mona Lisa smiles ... :))
